LEH is a loose group of friends who are, or were at one time, interested in the hacking world in some way or other.

It is the technology of hacking that interests us. We are generally not so interested in what you can "do" with hacking, just the fun of the techniques and technology behind it. As such, we do not take part in or support illegal hacking but limit ourselves to hacking things we have permission to, programming, and not releasing any "harmful" creations into the wild.

LEH started sometime close to the mid 90's, though no one remembers exactly when. It was started as a somewhat vague attempt to get some people together who found hacking fun and wanted to learn about it, but didn't want to screw with people or get in trouble.

There was no age limit but it was started originally by kids and people who didn't know much about hacking in the beginning. Over the years, it grew with the people involved, constantly shifting its focus and reason for being. But somehow it is still here binding together a few die hards who became good friends.

While LEH's focus shifted with time, the website often did not. For many years it did little to reflect the core LEH members and its public facing services were mostly just clogged by the usual noise anything claiming connections to hacking is used to. This stripped down LEH website remains to provide a hub for that loose group of friends, without (hopefully) sending out the wrong message.
